The ReiLimba is inspired by a Sami instrument called “Bongolaika”.
The ReiLimba consists of three bass-strings attached to a reindeer-antler that can be tuned. The reindeer-scull itself is attached to a resonance-box.
The ReiLimba is one of two instruments that was developed by Hansen (in cooperation with Hurdal musikk og instrument service) as part of her MA-project, “Hvor er ur”.
The ReiLimba was performed on by Kristine herself in “Láhpoluoppal” (September 2018) – a production that’s a part of Kristine’s ongoing project called “Lyd-ID”.
