It’s been a while since my previous post, so here’s an update;
My autumn has been about composing. I’ve been writing music towards March 8th (2018), because I’ve been the director of a production called “1663”. It’s created by me in cooperation with great colleagues. It was the opening-show for the Borealis festival in Alta, and it was a crazy experience. Thank you all!
The stage was by the way designed for the occasion. It’s built out of snow and ice, and it’s been developed in great cooperation with Laila Kolostyák.
I’m at the moment working towards the premiere of “Láhpoluoppal”. This is happening in June! I’m also working towards “Finnmark percussion festival”, which is happening in september. I’m going to perform a brand new commission for the occasion: Beat-Botox by Arnt Håkon Ånesen – a solo for snare drum and electronics. I’m also performing Rebonds A by Iannis Xenakis as well as teaching a bit. It’s going to be great fun!
Alta is the place – you better start noticing it on the map 🙂
I also composed “No kjæm de me’ hornan” commissioned by “Norsk Hornklubb”. It was performed in October 2017, and the sheets are available on their homepage 🙂
I’m at the moment composing a trombone-solo commissioned by my great friend and colleague Marius Slåttsveen. The premiere is November 11th, and it’ll be performed together with FinnSam and Nils Anders Mortensen.
More to come!
